A puddle around the toilet base is the number one panic-inducer on r/Plumbing. Before you call a plumber for $200, do these three things.
Figure out if it’s actually the wax ring. Not all base leaks are seal failures. Condensation from a sweating tank looks exactly like a leak. Wipe everything dry, put a paper towel around the base, check in an hour.
The food coloring test. A few drops in the tank. Wait 15 minutes. Don’t flush. If colored water shows up around the base, it’s the wax ring. If not, check supply lines and tank bolts.
Check for rocking. Both hands on the bowl, push side to side. Any movement means the seal is already compromised. Shim it now or you’ll be doing this again in six months.
If you need a new ring, get reinforced with the plastic sleeve. They cost maybe a dollar more and are way more forgiving on uneven floors.
